I’m Alive!

I feel like I should start this post out with a “hello world” : ) Well I just went on a super hiatus from posting and for those of you who have been patiently waiting by your computer I sincerely apologize : P

Its about 6:45 on Saturday morning, I am eating a delicious breakfast of champions, about to get ready for a 5 mile run to yoga, and then yoga! Its a beautiful 66 degrees out too! I absolutely love my Saturday morning routine lately, the weather this early is perfect for running! I’m still not as fast as I would like to be but I’m moving and that’s what counts! Plus my yoga instructor is amazing so I can definitely feel my core tightening back up again! So thank you Sasha for drawing me into your yoga class every week at 8:30am on a Saturday… I have been continuing the circuit / crossfit work outs over lunch during the week and soccer once a week. Slowly bring myself back up to speed for my normal work out load.

In super exciting news I found a bike! I have been looking for one so I can stop using my car and ride every where and a friend is giving me a frame with a chain that he found in his garage! I will be hitting up REI this weekend for some tires and I already have tubes! I am hoping that on Monday I will be able to bike to work for the first time! Depending on which way I go its about 4.5 – 5.5 miles. Not to shabby! Oh and in more exciting news… since my bitch about gaining weight I have dropped 5 of the 10lbs! Oh happy day!! That was about 2.5 weeks ago so not bad right?!

Hope every one else is enjoying this amazing weather and taking advantage of it! I will post soon a recap of the mudder I did a few weeks ago!

  1. So jealous of your bike find!! That is awesome!! I want to ride to work someday. Awesome job on the 5lbs too!! YAY!

    • Try a freecycle group!! I just read the book the cheapskate next door which was amazing but one of the things I got out of it was freecycle! There are groups in most major cities, basically you post something you are giving away and people reply. You can also post wanted stuff too!

  2. Welcome back! Finding a bike is super exciting news. I’m jealous that you get to ride through the neighborhood. I wish I could ride my bike to work or to run errands! And I love a weekend yoga class….I have been getting to yoga 1xweek and it makes such a big difference in my week. Keep it up! So good to hear from you!

    • Thank you! Unfortunately when I went to check out the bike it was in much worse shape than I thought and I would have dumped a ton of money into getting it usable. So instead a friend is loneing me one of his bikes for a little while I continue looking and I joined DC bikeshare!

And keep up the good work with yoga! I absolutely love it, best weekly appointment I have! We did this birds of paradise sequence last week that was crazy! You should suggest it to your teacher at your next session!
