Great Success!

At the beginning of last week I set a goal for 30 miles for the week. Victory is mine!!!

Wednesday was a recovery day of sorts because I ran 20 miles in 3 days and my tootsies were hurting, I ended up doing the Tough Mudder workout at home. I ditched my brother on Saturday so I could get in the miles I needed and ended up doing:

2 mile run – 8 min pace
The Run Down
2 mile run – 9 min pace
The Run Down
2 mile run – 8:30 pace

For the run down I didn’t do laps in between. I just did the circuit straight through, which I actually found to be more challenging. My chest and shoulders feel like I ran into a wall due to the amount of push ups I did in the last few days. Feels good but I’m looking forward to the tenderness to go away.

Sunday after my 6 hour drive back to DC I ran along the Potomac to squeeze the last 6 miles in. I have been through quite the temperature change this week for running. Tuesday was about 35 degrees and yesterday around 65! The sun felt wonderful yesterday though!

I posted earlier this week about how I was nervous about the monkey bars obstacle for Tough Mudder and I happened upon a playground last night and I SUCK. I made it about 3 rungs before wimping out because my hands hurt. I plan on going back with my gloves and trying to complete them. I will not be schooled by a child’s play ground. That is unacceptable.
