Am I turning into a runner?

I never considered myself a runner. I used to run track back in high school and my sweet spot was a 100 m dash, long jump and triple jump. The warm up of 2 laps around the track was a monumental task every fricken day. College I started running a bit more but it was always about trying to lose weight. Well now, while I would like to lose weight, I’m running to be faster. It’s a bit of a change. I’ve been at a 10 minute mile pace for the last oh 5 years maybe?

BOOM! Even with a sad foot I manage a 9:30 over all pace!! How exciting! I actually ran at 6.0 mph for the first 30 minutes then I bumped it up to 6.5 for the next 2 miles then did 7.0-9.0 for the last mile. Not too shabby!

What really helped was that the Reebook 2011 Crossfit Games was on the TV at the gym so watching a bunch of girls beast through cleans and monkey bars and pushing around sleds stacked with weights made me realized what I was doing was a long shot shy of spectacular : )

For me though this is great and I was very happy! Then I came home and made a really yummy dinner and chowed.
